Master of Human Resource Management

WHY MSc. (HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)?

The Master of Science Human Resource Management programe is developed to produce graduates who are capable of applying the acquired specific knowledge and skills in decision making and solving management problems, and are well prepared to face the challenges of managing organizations in the current global business environment. This program requires students to compete a dissertation in their field of study, in which students are examined based on their ability to apply and integrate the knowledge in specialized areas. The dissertation also allows them to further enhance their analytical, communication and writing skills.

ENROLLMENT

Admission to Master of Science can be granted based on the criteria specified below:

A Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 3.00; and
Fulfill English Language requirement.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia or any other institutions of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with a CGPA of at least 2.75; and
At least two (2) years of relevant working experience or a good score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)/ Graduate Record Examination (GRE); and
Fulfill English Language requirement.

OR

A diploma from any Institution of higher learning recognized by the University Senate with at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience and aged 35 years or older; and
Fulfill English Language requirement

*Note:
Applicants who do not meet any of the above postgraduate admission requirements can still be considered for enrolment upon recommendation by the Postgraduate Committee and endorsement by the Senate. Applicant may be required to attend an interview.

0.05 point will be added toward the current CGPA for each year of relevant work experience, if the Postgraduate Committee believes that the candidates have the potential to be admitted. The adjusted CGPA should not, however, exceed the total CGPA of 3.75.
